NAPOLEONIC COMPLEX

These things born of my own accord
Have shown the strength I can afford
For be I Loved, or be abhorred
A fleeting joy has been restored

NOTHING TO SEE HERE

I got one of the biggest surprises of my life yesterday. I had been kicking it at home for a couple of hours after a sweet ass weekend [UNIVERSAL! Xtreeem halloween mamadas], when it had occurred to me to look through the mail pile. There, was a package from Devis Granziera. The new Teatro Satanico! A new VHS, with NO visuals or video content, just a 45 minute track he and Kalamun put together. Out of nowhere. I had no clue about the release of this piece, much less that a copy was on its way to me... The generosity of this man leaves me speechless. I could cry maannnn.
side note: I find it so wrong that I have to track down pieces of technology that are not obsolete to enjoy this stuff. No cassette deck and no VCR. THIS must change gadamitt.

Brotherly Love

I spent the day with my carnalito today. I was surprised to see he had a bag full of stylish Anchor Blue stuff for me that he and my estranged mother picked out for me. It felt strange, but I sure as hell appreciate it! I was planning to take him on a little street art tour, but the hilite of the day was when he happened to point out a new street art THEMED store all the way the fuck at the top floor of the Hollywood and Highland! I would have missed it if he wouldn't have told me that he wanted to check it out! Its a sweet place, very 80s. I introduced myself to the shoppie as RATA.. haha. They had lots of local legends along the walls, and I plan to go back very soon...
We closed off the night with dinner at swingers which Christian [McLAUGHLIN!] was so gracious enough to spot us... I really needed this. I love Jesus so much. He really gives me a particular sense of purpose. A great day.

A Strange Kind Of Feeling

"A genius in art Jose Raul Chavez a.k.a RATA created this cosmic piece of art, in trade for one of my paintings. It now hangs on my hall with the rest of the art work."

PUTTING MYSELF OUT THERE

AND BEING FOUND...
Wow... Today was the day in which I first made MYSELF into a stencil. Not even five minutes after I did my first spray test, I put that shit up on my facespace calling it "Self-stencil test #1". Amidst my studies of the incredible energy Nelson just brought into my life, whom I met yesterday and actually traded Neptunian Echo with. I mean, how the hell was he gonna turn it down? That painting is HIM; Neptune that rules his Piscean essence, and a pair of water dwellers swimming in the light of the moon, his ruling body with regard to his Soul card, the High Priestess. In return, he gave me his self-portrait in abstract form:
He said a lot in this one. I guess thats why I'm so attracted to it... We spent most of the afternoon until dusk close to Malibu down Santa Monix, just kicking it in the sand, talking about life, digging the weather of the BEST fucking summer Ive ever experienced. SERIOUSLY MAN. It has probably hit over 90 like 2 times so far here in LA. And we're in the Middle of fucking August! Its the end of my year! Only 12 more days till my birthday...No wonder so much badass shit is goin round. But tonight tops all my nights here in Hollywood so far. I had been reading that Nelson brought with him some Empress energy, and sure enough, I get this super strong urge to go out and hit up so as to not get locked on something I cant get locked into... yet... I decided that it was finally time to introduce my original, full-size Walter stencil to the Strip. The perfect start to my night was a new piece on Fairfax, Marlon Brando with a MORONS pack of stogies on his shirt, the same pack with a few differences form the full-page poster of it that came before the Brando. My fist spot was gonna be where PhunkMuffin paid tribute to my work and of course The Big Lebowsky. That spot is so sacred to me now. That response was a real blessing because tonight I was spotted by another street artist! A veterano to top it off, 37 years old and still hitting up! He saw me and asked someting like "You write man? What you write?" and I was like "stencil!", holding Walter to him. He started to tell me how cool it was, and told me he hits up stickers and of what. He asked me what I was up to and I said I was bored and on a mission. He told me he was on his way back from work, from none other than Whole Foods, where I'm at at least one night a week, and said he was heading home to chill and smoke a bowl, AND was trusting and generous enough to invite me to his pad and blaze. He had some awesome abstract stuff all along his walls, and of course, some dern ass bomb right by the door. Even had a copy of Alec's flower-gun poster. He blazed me out with some hash on herb and showed me a down ass book of West-coast street artists and told me where to get it. He was even so amazing and kind enough to give me a Shepard Fairey dollar!I didnt even know he printed those out. He told me that he shoots him down all kinds of work once in a while. Shweeeeeet man... To top it all off, he even took out a sheet covered in a layer of blue paint and asked me to spray him a Walter! I was so honored man... He gave me his card, told me to hit him up soon, and I was off, so fucking inspired [and toasted] that I decide this was also going to be the night I hit up The Boulevard. And I did. And a lot. I walked until Vine, stopped for a few minutes next to that dern ass trumpet player by the musician's school, shot him a buck, siad "God bless you brotha man", got his blessing in return, and walked on...
RATA LIVES! I just love this town so much. I really belong here. And so much is starting to change for what I certainly hope is the better. This is too dern. This gives me hope...

MY FIRST INDUSTRIAL TAPE: ONE FOR THE AGES

WHAT AN HONOR. DeVis deviL's g. is one generous, classy man. Those who know true Industrial music know the priceless value of Teatro Satanico. This is a solo effort, but it means as much to me as any other release DeVis has been involved with. I'm super anxious to get this through a tape deck, absorb, and REVIEW. I am one happy Rex!!!!

To Wacko, Texas

I regret not scanning the package I just sent off to a new acquaintance of mine. But I did scan the front of what is the very first HomoErectus bootleg! Its just "Paint-drinking Pete!" in there, but Jody's also getting like seven stickers and that heart dealie I made him for facebook purposes. HERB FOR MY WINE!

The Kingdom will soon have its first Jihadi!

Today I finally received the package Talib Aziiz had promised me! This is so dern! It is so solid to have a set of contributions to The Formless Kingdom that hit home concerning my Islamic xenophelia.

To Tear Down...

I have never been so happy to have something of mine defaced. Well, only because it wasn't defaced with malicious intent. I was coming home from Amoeba, listening to my new HomoErectus track, "Paint-drinking Pete!", and I decided to scope out how my work was holding up along the Sunset strip. After all, the track is street art inspired... Anyway, the first spot I came up to was devoid of the Punisher sticker I slapped on a crosswalk signal button dealie last week. I should have known it wouldn't last long there, it was a little too clean compared to the rest of the block. But when I came to the next block, I saw an AWESOME piece, it was a pack of four glossy print outs of what looks like Britney Spears behind a whole mess of single-track strip-players. It looked like some kind of plug-in bonanza, and I tried to take one for myself, only for it to tear up halfway. I was disappointed, but it was cool that I could put it back as it was, torn, obviously, but still there. So I kept walking, and finally, I came to a spot I'm sharing with ALEC, whoever he is. And there I saw the most awesome backhanded compliment I've ever received: Someone had tried to take one of my Punisher stickers, but the exact same thing that had happened to me just minutes before had happened to whoever wanted my work for themselves! It was such a rush. It made my day. I mean, I scored a SEVEN documentary Frontline DVD about Al-Quaeda for 10 bux, but knowing someone wanted my sticker, had fucked it up in the process, but lovingly put back the torn half in its place made me feel super sweet, like I had really arrived in the street art scene or something. A great day...

The more I Punish...

...And it's OFF [to Deutschland]

I made a new small stencil today, Ray Stevenson as The Punisher. It looks so fucken sexy, I decided to decorate Sven's package [his personal edition REX comp] with it, along with another piece on the inside since the package is folded.

FUR SVEN

I just finished putting together a personal edition of sorts containing some of my demos and a few complete tracks for Sven Phalanx. This is a small way to thank him for sending me a copy of "Schattenkrieger" form his UFA package. It was real cool to be involved with the work. Not to mention its a real handsome addition to my discography...
These are a pair of pics of what I'm gonna send out to him.

HEATHEN HARVEST WILL BE SHUTTING DOWN

I had my heart broken yesterday. My buddy paddy, who is in charge of postings at HH, had confirmed to me that the site will not be seeing any major activity after what is said to be the final issue on the first of next month. Malakhi wasnt even courteous enough to address the writers personally, but as bad as I feel, he must be feeling so many, many times worse. I have been with these guys for two years now, and its very difficult to imagine just where I would be if it wasn't for my involvment with them. I've learned so much, met so many amazing people, begun to collaborate musically... It has been one of the most significant experiences of my life. Especially reviewing the Tarot Serie. Its a trip to think that the last time I had anything up was the time Paddy re-posted all of the Tarot reviews at once, and for a shining two weeks, I was a superstar writer... haha.
Its not completely over though, I was told that the domain would stay up, and that any new submissions would be posted, just not in the context of an issue, just random. I refuse to let this be the end for me. I'm not going to cease contributing because Heathen harvest has been my only window into the Post Industrial world for a long time now, and I'm not giving up on it because I aint getting a new package every month.
Ive got a small, but very close group of buddies that share my passion for this underground, and some of them love to send me stuff, not only because they value my opinion, but because they think I am deserving of what they have to offer. Matter of fact, DeVis just sent me a message yesterday telling me he wants to send me a new Noise tape, which he put together to help him get out his frustrations with some recent legal bullshit he's going through. And I plan to review it.
I guess Ive learned how to hustle enough to keep going, but also to keep going on my own, so as to stay on top of things and stay fresh, building upon the base I have and going from there. I am planning to set up my own review site, most likely on this site as a blog on account of it being free. I am starting it based on an idea I had to have a place that specializes in Net releases, which it seems have been neglected at large by the journalists in the Post Industrial community. I gotta get Tony to help me find a down ass design for it...
Lastly, this Saturday, I have an appointment with a guy who calls himself Lord Q [yes! another Lord to work for], a man who is starting up a webzine for a showcase based on exhibiting and promoting LA-based black and Latino Punk and Metal acts. LA PUNK NOIR, he calls it. He said he wants me to show up and immediately get into interviewing one of the bands. I'm DERN! Its no surprise things fall into place this way as one things fades... It's a beautiful thing.

TOTENWACHE [OVER CONCRETE]

This is like the fifth or sixth time in a row I get real faded at Mike and Tony's and spend like four to six hours making a track... shweet.
This time, it was a remix of one of Sven's songs off his first album. NeoNoise is born... haha.

A Truer Mecca

Today, I had my buddy Christian McLauglin fotograph me with the "mercury" I spoke of in my second entry. This was my first experiment in mixed media, remembering the term from Mr. Peter Alan Richard, on of LA's finest MM artists...

THE DEVIL IN MY DREAMS

I had the most wonderful dream this morning...
I was back in my hometown of Huntington Park hanging out at the 99 cent store on Pacific, and all of a sudden, the great Anton Szandor LaVey materializes next to me. At first there was a very close and intimate vibe, with sexual overtones even, and I would like to believe we were even holding hands. We were then walking along, almost as if he was showing me my own world through a different perspective. Everyone we passed beheld us with FEAR, and we just kept walking, feeling super mellow, and I was thinking about how proud I was to be arm in arm with this amazing man, feeling the strangest but most correct feeling of some sort of soft-handed dominance, like feeling I could change things just by warping the fabric of time and space around us as the Doctor and I stepped lightly...
We then made it to the parking lot of the 99 cent store, and it was here that the deplorable Gene Simmons was waiting for us. Turns out he was our limo driver. We got in, and then started blazing it, passing around half-smoked blunts... having nothing but roaches left, we then saw my homie Navardo and got a sack from him...
We then took a ride, and the crazy thing is that we were rolling through what I perceive to be Downtown LA, but a very old part of it that exists nowhere else but in my dreams... A place I have seen in my mind before. There were too many thoughts expressing themselves in my mind, but the one that I remember the most is that of thinking about Satan Xerxes, Anton's son, and the phrase "infiltrate the Council of Nine"...
last thing I remember was being in some sort of classroom. there was a man teaching philosophy, and I believe he was talking about Jewish myth. There was a book in front of me, and I kept turning the pages until I came to a page that addressed any one of the Jewish faith, reading something along the lines of "If you wish to keep sleeping at night, do not read past this point", as if the book was about to expose the false nature of the Jewish doctrine. Then a voice said "DO NOT TOUCH ME". I looked to the ceiling, and there were the words DO NOT manifesting themselves. It soon became clear that the words were the results of a black ink bleeding through. The ink spread, drops began to fall on both the teacher and I... and the dream was over.

TEATRO SATANICO INTERVIEW

The interview I conducted with the amazingly talented DeVis Granziera and his satanic buddy Kalamun was posted just last night on Heathen Harvest. So here you go...
